Good vintage. Crisp gold stenciling and grain-painted finish with light wear, mirror clean and bright, signed hardboard back intact.

A handsome wall mirror in the classic Hitchcock manner — ring-turned half columns down each side, blocked corners set with painted rosettes, and gold anthemion stenciling on a warm faux-rosewood grain-painted ground. Signed on the reverse with the Hitchcock "Hitchcocksville, Conn. Warranted" stencil, made at the historic Riverton, Connecticut factory of the revived Hitchcock Chair Company. The gilt work is crisp and the glass is clean and bright. A little piece of Connecticut furniture history that reads equally at home over a mantel, in an entry, on a dresser, or worked into a gallery wall.
