A fine ring mesh evening bag made of thousands of tiny linked rings, so it moves like fabric in your hand. The gold mesh has an enameled geometric design in darker bronze, with angular forms running on the diagonal and a band across the bottom just above the points. The pattern is worked into the mesh itself, not printed on, so it has held up well.
It hangs on its original chain from a stamped and chased frame with a scrolled border and a dark enameled band along the top. The hem ends in pointed vandyke tabs, a 1920s detail. The kiss clasp closes with two black ribbed finials set in brass collars. Inside, the original cream silk lining is stitched by hand through the pierced edge of the frame. Marked Made in Germany.
