A silver-plate ice bucket by The Sheffield Silver Company with a clean modernist profile, a wrap-around handle, and its original two-quart Pyrex insert, all fully marked. Chill a bottle of wine or champagne in it, or forget the ice entirely. It makes a gleaming vase for a loose grocery-store bouquet, a crock for bar tools or kitchen utensils, and a catchall for a bar cart or console. Pull the Pyrex liner and the silver shell doubles as a cachepot for a trailing plant. The kind of piece that looks like it is doing something even when it is only sitting there.
