A pair of Chinese horseshoe-back armchairs in the Ming manner, low and wide, with a continuous U-shaped crest rail that curves the whole way around into the arms. A carved circular longevity medallion sits at the center of each back splat.
The low seat height is what makes them. They sit below the line of a standard armchair, so they open up a room instead of filling it, and the dark frames hold their own against almost any palette.
