A moody mid-century city at night, built up in thick palette-knife strokes. Stacked towers in deep blue, violet and teal glow with flashes of chartreuse and red, like lit windows and neon in the rain. Up close it's almost abstract; step back and the skyline comes into focus.
It's an original oil painting, signed in yellow in the lower right corner. The back carries the printed John Wanamaker signature, the mark of the famous Philadelphia department store, which sold original art to shoppers in the 1950s and '60s. It's in a warm wood frame, ready to hang.
A great piece for a modern living room, an office or anywhere that needs a little city-at-night mood.
