1966 J.S. Ebersol Hand-Painted Folk Art Footstool, Pennsylvania Dutch Tulips

Signed J.S. Ebersol ’66, this petite Pennsylvania footstool has all the charm of mid-century Amish folk art. The maple top is hand-painted with a spray of tulips, greens, and sunshine-yellow swirls in the spirit of Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs, framed by black and ochre pin-striping that carries down each turned leg. Sturdy mortise-and-tenon joinery means it works just as well as a plant stand, low side table, or a kitchen riser as it does underfoot.
