A beautifully observed figurative oil by J. Hudock of Monroe, Connecticut: a man in a flat cap resting on a stone wall in a green woodland, his golden dog watching him with total attention. The dappled light, the confident handling of the dog's coat, and the quiet intimacy make this the most compelling Hudock we have had. Signed lower left, and the third Hudock to come through Loom, a local artist worth following.
