Oval porcelain dish with pierced handles at both ends, hand painted with two sailboats on a tinted peach and cream ground. Raised beaded gold trim runs the full rim.
Marked Nippon on the underside, which dates it before 1921. Every Nippon piece was hand painted, and you can see it here in the brushwork on the water and the loose grass along the shoreline.
Good on a dresser for keys and rings, or on a bar for lemon and lime. Hand wash only. The gold beading is applied over the glaze and will wear if you scrub it.
