Hand-Carved Wood Trivet, Octagonal Floral Openwork

A hand-carved wooden trivet in an octagonal shape, its center pierced with an openwork rose-and-leaf design inside a chip-carved border. Warm, dark-stained wood with a lovely, honest patina. Set a warm pot, kettle, or casserole on it at the table, use it as a candle base or plant riser, or lean it on a shelf as a little carved object. Handmade, in the Indian carved-wood tradition.
