A hand-painted black metal tole tray from Fine Arts Studio in Philadelphia, scattered with a spray of pink cabbage roses, tiny white violets, and a trailing gold bow, edged with a scalloped gilt rim. The original studio label is still on the back, and its postal zone dates the tray to somewhere between 1943 and 1963. Lovely on a vanity or dresser for rings and trinkets, styled on a shelf, or hung as a little piece of folk art.
