Good antique condition; wood refinished. Scratches to the black back panel, staining to the tray paper.
An American dome top steamer trunk from around 1880 to 1895. Bentwood oak slats over warm pine, black metal banding, cast iron corners, a brass center lock and two draw-bolt latches. Leather side handles with scallop shell loops.
Lift the lid and the original lithograph is still there: a lady in a feathered hat in a starred frame, with a robed figure on each side. The fitted lift-out tray is still inside too.
Great as a coffee table, at the foot of a bed, or for blanket storage.
