Antique Hand-Forged Copper Dipper, Tinned

A lovely old copper dipper from a collection of French copper, the kind once used to scoop water or milk from a larger pot or barrel. The deep round bowl was raised by hand and tinned inside, and the long flat handle is riveted on with big hand-hammered rivets and finishes in a rolled hanging loop. Years of use have worn the tin to a soft grey and left the copper glowing underneath. All copper, no iron. Hang it in a kitchen, stand it in a crock of utensils, or let it rest in a big bowl as a bit of sculpture.
