Antique Edwardian Rosewood Open Bookcase, Ebonized Columns with Gilt Fluting, Brass Casters

A small Edwardian open bookcase. The figured rosewood top has a crossbanded edge and rounded corners, and sits over four ebonized columns, each fluted and picked out in gilt. The columns end in turned ebonized feet on their original brass casters, so it moves easily.

Three shelves, two of them adjustable on the sawtooth supports inside, each edged with a gilt molding. The sides are paneled in rosewood with a gilt border and a turned roundel at the center, so it looks finished from every side. The back is painted black.

Use it for books, as a narrow console in a hallway, as a bar or beside a desk.
